In my last course, Teaching for Understanding with Technology, we learned about how personal learning networks, or PLNs, can help you connect to your desired learning opportunities, grow professionally, and share your own experiences.

This short story, by our own MAET director, Dr. Leigh Graves Wolf (@gravesle), shows you just how it all works.

Our class assignment for the above mentioned lesson was to create a visual representation of our PLNs to showcase how we learn. Here’s mine, created with a tool I’d happily recommend to you: Spicy Nodes. This mind mapping tool allows you to create animated conceptual maps, which can greatly enhance learning for visual and spatial learners. And the best part: it’s easy to use and free.
